Celebrate Black History Month

George Washington Carver was a famous African American who created hundreds of uses for the peanut.  Check out these "nutty" programs during the month of February!



  • Coolspring Library - Drop by anytime during the month for a special peanut craft.  And...do you know what a Fluffernutter is?  Come and find out on February 27 at noon.

  • Fish Lake Library - Discover some cool facts about George Washington Carver, spell a word with peanuts and guess how many of the little legumes are in our jar.

  • Hanna Library - Make a puppy out of peanuts?  Sure!  We'll show you how.

  • Kingsford Heights Library - Our Peanut Gallery will be open and waiting for you during February.  Come take a look!

  • Children's Department at the Main Library - You are invited to a Super Duper Peanut Butter Storytime!  February 19 at 10am - For ages 0-5 with their adult caregiver.

  • Rolling Prairie Library - Put together your own pine-cone and peanut butter bird feeder between February 10-22.

  • Union Mills Library - Create a mystery peanut craft...but shhh!  Don't tell anyone what is is!
