Sports
Whether it's sailboats racing along the Lake Michigan shore as volleyball players spike over the net along Washington Park Beach or youngsters throwing strikes and hitting home-runs at Patriot Park, LaPorte County is fast becoming a prime spot for athletic events, both professional and amateur. In an environment where youth occupy continually more of their time on fields and courts, the need for receptive locales and worthwhile facilities is growing. The LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau feels LaPorte County fits that bill and welcomes the opportunity to work with event owners, sponsors and hosts, as well as facilities managers, to create and host highly successful sporting events within the county. Our sports staff is eager to work with anyone interested in bringing events to any of the county's many top-notch facilities which have experience in hosting world class events including National Softball Association girls softball world series' and the Women's Professional Billiards Association's Great Lakes Classic. Located on the southern shore of Lake Michigan, LaPorte County is located along I-94, the Indiana Toll Road, U.S. 35, U.S. 20 and the South Bend and South Shore Railroad and is easily accessible from Chicago, South Bend, Indianapolis and Detroit. So strap on your shoulder pads, cinch up your cleats and come play ball in LaPorte County, Indiana!
