Note: Businesses and venues throughout LaPorte County, which includes Michigan City, are following state guidelines established in conjunction with the coronavirus (COVID-19) to open gradually and safely in accordance with a five-part plan initiated by Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb. The current stage – 4.5 – has allowed further reopening but does require face masks be worn for indoor businesses. It will be in place at least through September 25.
Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa is following these guidelines and employing deep cleaning procedures. As of September 1, the Casino is open from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m., a total of 20 hours a day, with social distancing practices in place. The four-hour closure each day allows for deep cleaning. Of the Blue Chip’s two hotel towers, the Spa Blu Tower, with a wide variety of rooms, is open, and the Blue Chip Tower is expected to reopen October 1. Three restaurants are open for business. Spa blu, the Fitness Center, and the pool are temporarily closed but hope to open soon.
