Board Walk Beach Bar, LaPorte – Everyone has a blast along with great pub food, beers on tap and margaritas at this bar and eatery on a deck above Pine Lake. It’s part of the Blue Heron Inn complex which also includes T-Bone’s restaurant, known for succulent steaks.

Best Tacos – Cabos Ice Cream Shop & Cafe, Michigan City – Steak tacos and chicken tacos in a guajillo chile sauce brought a win for this cheerful shop where the owner also makes ice cream from scratch every day, along with yummy popsicles in a rainbow of flavors.
Best Burger – Shoreline Brewery, Michigan City – Locals loved this longtime restaurant’s Grecian Lamb Burger (domestic lamb topped with feta, dill tzatziki, onion and tomato on a hearth-baked roll) so much it took top honors. Classy entrees, upscale pub food and award-winning, hand-crafted beer go together perfectly in this beautiful brewpub setting.
Best Pizza – Albano’s Villa, Michigan City and LaPorte – There’s so much to love about pizza at this restaurant – the house-made sausage, thin crust and family recipes that date to the old days in Sicily. Pizza War voters named Albano’s in Michigan City their favorite. There’s also an Albano’s in LaPorte serving the same delicious product.
Best Breakfast – Jennie Rae’s Restaurant, Rolling Prairie – It’s the kind of bountiful breakfast everyone craves – from light biscuits to heavenly Hollandaise on eggs Benedict to crispy hash browns Add in Jennie Rae’s delicious homemade jams and it’s easy to see why this small town eatery was voted the No. 1 Breakfast in the county. Don’t miss the homemade soups and pies, plus a Friday night all-you-can-eat fish fry.
