LaPorte Santa Parade – 11/24

Baby its cold outside and Santa is coming to downtown LaPorte! The Santa Parade is another family favorite as kids line the streets to watch characters and floats pass by while waiting in anticipation as it ends with a fire truck holding the king of the holiday himself…Santa. The parade starts at noon and runs down Lincolnway and State Streets ending at Santa’s Chalet in Plaza 618. And the excitement continues as the kids can visit with Santa at his chalet following the parade.

Festival of Lights – 12/1 – 1/5/2019

More than 5 million individual bulbs set Michigan City’s Washington Park aglow throughout the Christmas season and into the New Year, lighting up a variety of holiday and traditional displays that are truly a sight to behold as you drive through the park. You’ll see 35 large displays and an additional five super-size displays that feature a variety of themes, some lighthearted, others nostalgic and still others absolutely stunning panoramas. Many area residents have made this wonderful trip through the park their annual holiday tradition. The Michigan City Parks Department assembles the incredible display each year for what is reputed to be the Midwest’s largest free drive-through holiday exhibit. Special events are held downtown in conjunction with opening day in early December. Throughout the season, the lights are on daily from 4pm to 1am.
