About Washington Park, Beach & Zoo

Enjoy the shores of Lake Michigan in beautiful Washington Park. This 140-acre park has 2 miles of pristine beach, the Washington Park Zoo, Sunset Grille, the Michigan City Senior Center, concessions, public art, amphitheater, a marina, public fishing and fish cleaning station, boat launch, picnic shelters, historical monuments and the only public working lighthouse in Indiana.

Washington Park hosts annual world class sporting events and festivals and is home to the famous Festival of Holiday Lights in Dec/Jan.

Open daily 5am-midnight.
