About WEFM Radio Station

WEFM is an FM Radio Station broadcasting on 95.9 in Michigan City, Indiana, east of the Chicago metropolitan area. Year after year WEFM is by far the most listened to local station.

95.9 FM began in September 1966 as WMCB-FM, operated by CBS engineer Howard Dennewitz, a Michigan City native. Two years later the present owners bought the station and expanded it.

The station's music format is adult contemporary and oldies daytime, smooth jazz/easy listening vocals mix evenings and overnight, and a mixture of big band/classic pop, polkas, and gospel on the weekends. The station also airs coverage of many high school, college, and pro sporting events daily.
